Well waiting for the afternoon thunderstorm, and a few that you know went that went to the outhouse and the hogs must of ate'um,can't recall if that was before or after they found Grandma on the porch in Tobacco Road or was it from the farm in Kansas, Yes,slow have you done the ridge that looks into Sardine Canyon out of Onion Valley if not don't you can't see Sardine Canyon. Good local book by a young lady just came out Miracle Country,Kendra Atleework,no pictures, I like books with pictures,Hegel had lots of nice pictures in his works, but always circled back to the beginning.

Sometimes, no news is good news.
I made it to the top a few days ago. No issues with snow, ice, stream crossings, earthquake damage, water availability, bugs, or obtaining new WAG bags at the trailhead. Trail traffic is back to normal, and nobody looked like they were in need of a rescue. The only problems were the typical ones of afternoon storm activity (nothing intense that day) and trash + WAG bags on the mountain.

I just happened to be thinking about Sardine Canyon. I've climbed Kearsarge Peak, and the unnamed one just west of Lilley Pass. Every now and then I think about climbing the one north of Kearsarge, just across Sardine Lake.

Some years ago we went from Baxter Pass down to the JMT then up some canyon that we thought would get us home went by a nice lake ended on a very nice ridge ,we had no idea where we were but could see lights on 395 and thought if we can reach 395 we could hitch back to Lone Pine ,later found out that would of been Sardine canyon, but on the very narrow ridge we found a ridge leading south after a few class two + moves we ended up at Golden trout lake and was able to fall into the creek for the grand Finale. No Miners lettuce.

Sounds like exactly the kind of hike that Crazy Jack would like.

Hegel had lots of nice pictures in his works, but always circled back to the beginning. Hegel's works always circle back because his name rhymes with bagel.

Was Hegel that artist that epitomized the early 80s with his sleek, minimalist images of women (sometimes in Ray Bans, sometimes not), that graced the apartment walls of nearly every 20-something-Don-Johnson wannabe...?
But yeah, I read in the brochure that you could see Sardine Lake from Gould, but that's a damned lie.

Privacy is what makes Sardine Lake such a fine spot for one to practice one's Kegels.

Privacy is what makes Sardine Lake such a fine spot for one to practice one's Kegels. Well, now you're just being silly. But seriously, I was pretty amazed at what a rich history the lake has from reading the NY Times photo exposé a few years back. Inyo County is also planning on replacing the Little Lake panel on the water tower artwork south of town, so it will be in good company with Whitney and Winnedumah, as it should've been all along.

That made me laugh out loud. No, the golden sardines in the lake prefer full sun. That's why they swim upstream all the way from Independence.
