Louise, Rich and I did part of Mt.Russell on Saturday 7-29-17 but I couldn't make it all the way as I got altitude sickness. I should have known better but I will sleep high next time to finish it off. Met Norma Ryan and Brain on the ridge.

Hey Mark sorry I missed you all on the trail. It was a beautiful weekend up there. Nice pix. I love the views from the East Ridge of Russell. Pretty confident of you all to do that route without roping up too!

I hope all's well. I miss our Baldy hikes.

Hey Kurt its been awhile, yes I miss those Baldy hikes.
I cant do what I used to do and I should know better leaving the beach area arriving in Lone Pine in the evening, hrs later starting up the mountain to go to 14,000ft. This was the first time I thought I was going to get sick then my head was spinning but I kept going until I said to Rich I better not go up that last ridge up there...Hoping to go back up in Sept.

See you somewhere

Nice pictures! I talked to the female in the group as you guys were coming back past the portal store. I asked about the conditions and the water crossings.

Yeah sounds like you made a smart decision. The East Ridge of Russell is an awesome route. It'll be there for another day (or two :)).

We should get the band back together and do a Baldy hike. I'll be down in November doing slideshows at Adventure 16 stores. Friday Nov 4 would be a good day for one smile.
