Mt. Whitney Portal Store & Hostel Forums General Mt. Whitney Portal Store Message Board Lost stuff on the 15th

Did Whitney on the 15th and being the knuckleheads that we are we ran much of the way down. Somewhere around mirror lake and below the elastic on the mesh of my Camelback HAWG broke from the constant pounding. I assume that the trail over a distance was littered with everything that was in that mesh as it bounced out. Known lost stuff was,first of all and the only thing I care about, a nice Leatherman, carmex chapstick, vasiline chapstick, Cliff bar cool ice, small baggie of food and who knows what else. Anyway if someone found the knife and wanted to get it back to me let me know, I would greatly appreciate it. I will try to do a trip report soon but I'll let you know this now the temperature from Trail Crest to Summit was 38 degrees at about 8:30 a.m. with what had to be 30 mph winds. I am not sure what to chill factor would be but it had to be in the low teens.

Hey Grinder, the other day when I was running past Crail Trest I saw an M&M and a bottle of Gatorade. I also found a green Whitney hat. Maybe that fell out of you pack also.

Could be, I lost everything else I was carrying. Add one small flashlight to the list. It was a great way to lighten the load on the way down though.
