I'm thinking about taking my son up to Olancha peak in the next couple weeks. Anyone been up there lately?

i was there last week. stayed on the trail until it's time to break trail and take the talused slope to the summit. no shortcuts for us. we did it as a very long day hike, 22+ miles over 6k of gain. seems most do it as overnight backpack. makes sense.

my pix are here: http://picasaweb.google.com/ryan.norma81/OlanchaPeak6610#

great views from the summit. plenty of water flowing. good luck!
