i understand its better to camp at consulation lake...can you tell me how far off the trail it isand how many sites are there......will it be busy there end of sept.

Consultation lake is big and hard to miss. It is off to the left, just below the big U shaped Arc's pass (between Irvine and Mt. Marsh/Mc Adie. You will see the "trailside meadow sign," the river which comes from Consultation lake, I believe. Above that watch for the lake. It will be before trail camp. It is off the trail but not that far. Most people though are so tired, they do not even want to walk an extra 50 feet. It doesn't have tons of sites like trail camp but not many people go there either. If you like more privacy and better water, it is a good place to go.

Hi. I just camped at Consultation on 9/5 and 9/6. MUCH better than Trail Camp, I think. There are actually quite a few camp sites spread out all over. They are hard to see from the trail. Some are closer to the shore, but a lot of them are mid-way. That's where I stayed.

I think it's worth the extra five minutes to walk down there.
