First of all, I would like to thank all that contribute to this site. I climbed Mount Whitney as a day hike on 6/1 for the first time and doubt that I would have made it without all the valuable info I gained here. Beautiful summit day for sure.
However, as I started up the chute above Trail Camp, I reached for my ice axe and it was gone. I know I had it at Lone Pine lake area and think I still had it at Mirror Lake. Somehow it worked it's way free. I'm glad it wasn't necessary to reach the top, but it did eliminate glissading down safely. Anyway, if anyone happened upon a silver Black Diamond ice axe and cares to return it, I would appreciate it and provide a reward and shipping. My email is cnyorthosportsmed@hotmail.com Thanks...
