Hello Whitneyers

A friend and I will be looking to hike the MR on Whitney at the end of March. We were looking to possibly to make an expedition out of the trip and do a few peaks in the area. We were thinking of doing Williamson>Tyndall>Russell> Whitney> Muir or some abbreviated version of that.

Has anyone tried this circuit before around this time of year? Does anyone have any idea of the travel times between those peaks (I know a lot depends on snow so its hard to predict). Thanks in advance!

Hi Sounds like a nice trip, several contacts would be SP Parker in Bishop he is a local backcountry ski guide. Many ski the Whitney area starting this time of the year so watch for post. Another source might be check out the book High Adventure it talks about the first ski tour of the Sierra 1929.Your trip may require 12-15 days depending on where you come out and if we get any late storms Thanks Doug
