Just finished a hike from North Lake to Pine Creek this weekend. Had never been back into that area of the Sierras....what a treat. By the way for those of you with hiking dogs, this is an ideal trail. Plenty of water all along the trail. Longest stretch without water was about 1 1/2 miles on the down hike to Pine Creek trailhead. Got lucky on the weather. Talked to several hikers that were out last week and they really got pounded with rain and hail. Did not encounter any skeeters. It did get below freezing on the second night slightly above 10,000.
