Make a Death Valley late winter escape and lend a helping hand to the park!
Friends of the Inyo is leading a volunteer stewardship weekend near Death Valley Dunes Friday-Sunday, March 5-7. We'll camp at Stovepipe Wells, doing road restoration work Friday and Saturday, then take an optional group hike on Sunday.
FOI provides the campsite and meals for volunteers who sign up in advance!
More info here.
Friends of the Inyo will be leading several volunteer trips into the High Sierra this summer, too!

I spent a fascinating 3 days in Death Valley 3 weeks ago, on a camping trip with my son's 5th grade class. The Rangers were great, and we were taught a lot of cool stuff about Geology, Astronomy, and survival (pup fish). Trying to keep track of 45 kids, with only 4 dads, 2 teachers and the school nurse proved to be almost too much at times, though. shocked
