School is out today and my goal is to not look at another computer or student, until next year, unless, of course, I have a question for you kind folks for which the answers are always right on. Thank you all so much.
Be safe, have fun and have a great Holiday Season. See you all in 2010.

The Mouse is wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas. I will be in Mammoth trying to keep up with my kids. For all that are out hiking I'm with you in spirit.

I'll convince Trailbud to haul in the party supplies. He has a 4wd sled.

Merry Christmas to all on the WPSMB, especially to our men in women in uniform who are in harm's way, who guard our embassies, who are stationed on some remote outpost in like Adak, Alaska, or who along the DMZ between North and South Korea.

I know what it is like to be away from home for Christmas. I have been away for two of them. Knowing your friends and families are having a wonderful time, it gnaws at you, because you wish you could be there with them. But you are on foreign soil doing what you are ordered to do knowing it is the right thing to do or you are stationed in the middle of nowhere on firewatch.

But, it is only a day out of 365 or 366, and there will be other Christmases to come, just like the mountains will always be there.

I have had my other Christmases since then, and I am very happy to celebrate this holiday season with my family and friends.

To all Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, and Airmen across the world.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND GOD'S SPEED.

OORAH!

Merry Christmas to all and to all...have fun in the mountains. Here's a clip of what Santa Claus does after he delivers presents to the kiddies:

Merry Christmas and a Joyful New Year. Health and safe hikes to all. We are off to Northern California, following the coast up through Big Sur and Carmel, through Jenner and Mendocino (Little River Inn - great place!), past Eureka and (hopefully) end up in Crescent City for trail running and edible mushroom hunting. (Don't worry - we like our livers and never ever pick any white gilled mushroom, edible or not.) Then we will work our way back home. See you in 2010.

That Mandles video made me spit coffee, very funny. I did not see some of the mountain favorites: "Comfy Campfire Coffee", "Warm Summit Beer" or "Wag Bag Wonder".

Happy holidays and new year to all!

Merry Christmas to all and to all great mountain adventures.

Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.
