For all those of us that live a long way from Whitney and the Sierras I'd just like to say thanks for all the awesome trip reports and photos that keep us inspired! I log on each day and see photos by Richard and Laura and it takes me back there each time. I hope everyone has a safe and fun filled off-season..I'm looking forward to the trip reports of epic snow conditions!

We headed into "our" mountains last weekend over in the Smokies..a combined kayaking/hiking trip. Photos and trip report here: http://tinyurl.com/ylm9k5m

Hopefully we'll get some snow here this year. It already snowed once a few inches above 3500'..so maybe it will be a good season.

Regards!
Chris

Chris, keep your stories coming too!

When the heck are you coming out to visit us again? You'll at least have to remember the promise to come back on 10/11/12...

Chris, it's great to see you post on here again. What a wonderful trip! Gourmet food, 70 lb packs, strolling through the colors of fall (which are WAY better than anything we got out this way this year, or else I just kept going to the wrong canyons!)... Ahhh... life is good. Which reminds me: time to break out the 4-season tent and get up to the SNOW!!
