I think it's a good time now for all attendees to state which routes they're planning on taking up Thor on Saturday. (This should simplify the process and not cause undue confusion to sleepy heads Saturday morning, since a number of people will be camped at the Portal.)

Hi just thinking about a backup plan if the snow is on Thor Arches in the Alabama hills, Lone Pine water fall and a grunt climb into the bowl of North face of Lone Pine Peak also up to the Ashrom? Tuttle Creek Canyon or the NRT Trail from the Portal to Lone Pine Campground or on into town on the new trail through the Alabamas, join the arch trail and over the ridge into town 20+/- miles you know one of those its all down hill hikes. Options Thanks Doug

Got a call from Arthur last night exactly to this effect. We'll see what happens, I guess. I like the idea of revisiting Tuttle Creek and wandering around up there. Gorgeous views and not that hard of hiking into that canyon. Thanks, Doug.

Smiley Face A or Doug's Secret Route (he promised leisurely...not sure what that really means in Doug-speak).
I'm pretty excited!

Or we can cart all the potluck booze to Movie Flats and re-enact the Gunga Din battle scene... (there's enough of us...)

Mark (Melville1955) is on StemWinder. James (trucker) is going with Laura, I believe.
James & I have a room reserved at the Portal w/4 beds, and there are (obviously) only two of us. Anyone who needs a place, (and is arising at the same time as us), please feel free to reply...

Warheads vs. rubber swords? Hmmm....

Ranboze = cl3 w/ Laura - it takes me consistently just under 2hr to get to LBSL; if that's too slow fer the group, then Smiley A. Depending on conditions, we may be Smiley C

Karen H. and Alice will hike the 3rd class route from GSL with Laura.
Smiley Face B will probably start .5 to 1 hour behind the A people.

I would say we should all use the same radio channels. This way we can monitor progress of different groups. Also handy in case some of group members need or want to turn around. I use code 6 sub 3 - we can do a radio check prehike.
