Doing the one-day this Thursday, first time...the water at Trail Camp looks pretty slimey, from the pictures I've seen. Looks like there's flowing water at Trailside Meadow. Might that be a better source for water before starting up the switchbacks? Also, it's getting close now, we drive up tomorrow, how's the weather? Thanks

Yes, the water at that pond by trail camp is not the best quality, due to all the human interference. In my opinion, the best place to get water befor the 97 switchbacks is from the little streams of water from the melting snow that flow into that pond by trail camp. Get your water as close to the snow as you can, and it tastes the best.

There are clear skies & it's warm at the moment, but the weather on the mountain is unpredictable & variable and more than likely unrelated to the weather in Lone Pine.
