eyedoc77 Member Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 27	Hi everyone. Quick question: I'm hoping to do a MMWT day hike on Monday (9/14). How likely am I to get a permit for 2 people if I walk in to the Lone Pine Ranger station at around 2pm on Sunday? As I understand it, unclaimed permits become available around noon... Any thoughts from you Whitney veterans?? Thanks!

Call the Lone Pine Multi-Agency Visitor Center to be sure. I have climbed Whitney 3 times and each time got my permit as a walk in - never with a reservation. Cancellations become available at 11 am and no-shows become available at 2 pm. Orientation Notes for Whitney First Timers
