Just wondering about refunds. I have six one-day permits (or one permit for six people) for August 29. However, I have injured my back and can't do very much walking at all, much less up the mountain. My question is: can I get a refund on the $90? If not, I can pass them along to someone else, just contact me here.

thanks

JeffH - Sorry to hear about your back injury. The permit fee is not refundable because it covers the cost of operating the permit lottery. You can turn the permits back to the Forest Service where they become available for others to claim. What happened to the other 5 people in your party? They can still hike.

JeffH:

I'd be happy to help you with your "refund."
I'm flying in from Pennsylvania, and had planned to summit Whitney via MR on the 29th. Contact me and we can make the appropriate arrangements, but check your e-mail first. I just sent you an e-mail with my contact info. Thanks.
