I would like to climb Mt. Whitney in one day on the Mt. Whitney Trail leaving the Whitney Portal at Midnight. I got to within 30 munutes of the summit last year. Had to tuen back due to bad weather. I am a 55 year old man in good physical condition. I am (legally blind) but can see well enough to identify the trail and get around on my own. I hike at a slow pace. I am open to doing training hikes before attempting Mt. Whitney. It is usually possible to get a climbing permit on a walk in basis the day before the climb. I would like to go up Mt. Whitney during August.

I wouldn't mind a slow hike, I could probably see more walking slow and able to look around...mark
