Does any one know what the current snow condition on Whitney's mountaineers route? Do we need to bring crampons and ice axe?

No need for crampons or ice axe. Besides a couple of random patches of snow the entire route is dry.

Day hiked up the MR on 8/8/09. No snow really anywhere. Just after the notch there is ice in the center of the final chute to the top, but easily avoidable.
