Ed, If you don't own it you might get a copy of Peter Croft's "The Good, the Great, and the Awesome". Some info on the route there and lots of other juicy ideas to inspire future trips.

Supertopo does the best job of giving complete and accurate beta on routes. The pdf file is only $15 and well worth every penny. Check out the descriptions of the East Face route of Mt. Whitney.
