Mt. Whitney Portal Store & Hostel Forums General Mt. Whitney Portal Store Message Board Purple Flowers

I was on the MR this last Monday, and noticed some purple flowers at 14,000'. I think I read that these flowers only grow above a certain altitude. Does anyone know what these flowers are called? I would put a picture of them on here, at least the crappy ones that I took, but I haven't figured out how to do that from the Picasa web site.

Yeah, that's them. Sky Pilot. Unfortunately I didn't smell them. They were on the east couloir, and I was too busy holding on with one hand, and snapping pictures with the other. Thanks for the info.

Oh yeah, great pictures too. Wish I was a good photographer, or maybe it's the camera.
