Steve: I will be arriving at the Portal this Saturday, and on Sunday will be hiking up to Meysan Lake to camp two nights. My plan for next Monday was to climb Irvine and Mallory. From looking at your pictures, which by the way are very nice, makes me wonder what the snow conditions in the chute might be. Do you think that I should pack crampons and ice ax just in case, or should the snow be melted enough that the special equipment is not needed. Thank you. Whitney Mike
