Anyone ever been over the pass between Little Five Lakes and Big Five Lakes? See point A on the map link below.

Looks really easy but just wondering if anyone's done it and has some beta.

This trip report describes it well, it doesn't sound too bad.

The description of the pass itself starts on this page, with pictures at the bottom:

Went over the aforementioned pass on 7/20, no problems; nice little pass. Had a couple of XC noobs with me; they did just fine. Big Five Lakes is a really nice area.

I was looking at the map link that Hikin-Jim posted and noticed that Moraine Lake on the Chagoopa Plateau is now listed as Funston Pond!!??

The trail near the lake is still named the Moraine Lake Trail.

Does anyone know when this change happened?

Frankly, I wouldn't worry too much about what that terrain map says. The terrain mode in acme maps has numerous naming mistakes. The official name according to the USGS is still Moraine Lake.

Thank you Jim. I've seen it on Google maps a few times and, as it is one of my favorite places starting in the early 60's with my father and two brothers, it was slightly irritating. I guess, though, I shouldn't fret about a name. It doesn't change the actual place or the memories.
