Despite reading all the comments posted last week, my buddy and I decided to attempt Langley via New Army. To make a very long story short, there was lots of snow that made finding the trail quite difficult towards the top of New Army. We had to traverse down and climb some hairy rocks. There was definitely some class 3 type of maneuvers, but nothing impossible. The cornices were amazing and it was a bit scary. Once we made it over New Army, we slogged along until we were about 500 vertical feet below the Langley summit before we decided to turn around. It was getting too late and we were both a bit tired.
Folks, unless you are well prepared and ready to dog out a tough hike, you might consider waiting until next month when the snow melts.
