This site (and you folks) has been an unbelievable wealth of information and even inspiration for treks on and around Mt Whitney. As good as some of the books are (Mount Whitney: Mountain Lore from the Whitney Store stands out) this site is far and away the best source for relevant, up-to-date info and trip reports. Sweet webcam too. Lately even some Shasta stuff makes the cut. How cool is that! Laura good luck with your upcoming Shasta adventure. I think I am going to give Mt Kilimanjaro a shot with Kurt Wedberg (www.sierramountaineering.com/contactus) late this August. It would be great to see a few from the site jump in too. I'm sure that many of you have probably seen this, but check out Whitney and the Sierra on Google Earth; IT IS WAY COOL!! I have been inspecting the NF approach as I will be doing it my first time in a couple weeks. Technology is amazing. We are doing the E. Buttress; getting very excited. THis site is amazing though as well for beta purposes.
Silly question... as good as this site is, is there something similar for the Grand Canyon? Trip reports, tips on permits, weather conditions, lots of traffic...
