I guess this used to be considered acceptable - buy a rock from Mt Whitney:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Souvenir-of-Inyo-County-CA-Death-Valley-Mt-Whitney_W0QQitemZ280342365962

Take nothing but pictures...

That piece of granite could be from a lot of places in the Sierra. What are the chances that somebody, in 1938, climbed all the way to the summit and hauled a piece of granite down?   laugh

The value of that souvenir is more in the 1938 copyright. smile

Take nothing but pictures...
...and memories!
and leave nothing but footprints.

Just for fun, I had to copy that picture and ad from Ebay, since it won't be there for long. Here's the picture and the description. I'll try to post the final selling price once it is sold.

Seller's description:
    • Souvenir of Inyo County, Calif. "The County Boasting the Highest and Lowest Points in the United States"

    • A Piece of Rock From Mt. Whitney Alt. 14,496 ft.

    • 20 Mule Team Borax Crystals from Death Valley 280 Feet Below Sea Level

    • Copyright - June 1938, Genevieve Anna Naffziger

    • Card has To and From spaces on back, unused.

Current bid: $4.95
~6 days left: $11.61
The item sold for $56.55!

Now if it came packaged in a Wag Bag....
Thus, a true souvenir of the Whitney experience, & perhaps,
the answer to all the potty problems.

Actually, it's just an old wag bag: that's what happens to the poop when it crystallizes... smirk
