Mt. Whitney Portal Store & Hostel Forums General Mt. Whitney Portal Store Message Board New Users Fees

There has been much discussion on many hiking boards regarding the new $85.00 User Fees- especially concerning those lands which specifically have installed toilets for public use. Since the Whitney trail has such amenities, does this new fee have any impact on the use and permit regulations of the Main Trail?

Thanks for bringing this the attention of people posting on this board. Can you reference any of the discussion boards where you have read of this new fee? I read the congrssional records and couldn't find any refence to a specific amount but nust admit I didn;t read the OMB report placed into the record by Congressman Polombo from Calif.
