Hi everyone...I just wanted to share this with you all..as I know a lot of you do adventure out into the wilds also during the snowy winter months.

Below is the link to a good freind of my husband and myself that was caught in an avalanche and lost his life last Saturday here in Tahoe.

You always think it won't happen to me..but soemtimes it can..and it did happen to my friend Chris.

I have meant some of you good people here..and hope to meet more some day..so that is why I am posting this because I care and just to tell you to please be careful out there, be in tune with your surroundings..as stuff can happen.
Love to all of you
Anita....I hope I get the link to Chris's story on here okay

I am saddened to read of this tragedy. It is clear that Christopher lived life to the fullest and touched many lives in a very positive way. Thank you for the reminder to the realistic possibilities of such dangers we all face in the mountains.

Hi, Anita -

So sorry for the loss of your friend in this way. I read the article, and he sounded like a wonderful guy. Glad he was doing what he enjoyed when this happened.

I read about this several days ago - sad and a tragedy. I think somewhere, a couple of months ago, I read about the extreme avalanche dangers posed this year all over the Western US...to be sure, if one is going to venture out in snowy conditions it may be wise to know the warning signes of avalanche.

Drove up to Mammoth to see a patient today, and there was PLENTY of avi evidence on MOST of the visible slopes. While the snowpack isn't all that deep, obviously it is extremely unstable right now.

Be careful this weekend. Wind has picked up to the north and there is a lot of redistribution going on right now.

Wow:) Thank you everyone for taking the time to post such kind comments about Chris..I really appreciate it.
Chris had a beautiful memorial service on Saturday...one of the most emotional and touching ones I have ever been to.

One of his freinds spoke about solo adventure..I wish I could remember the exact words..but I don't...but it was about the importance of what it does for some of us...I know you all can relate to that.

Thank you all again & take care
Anita
