No... not working yet. Looks like Doug uploaded one of his old pictures again. Webcam software is still being built. I've been making progress, step by step. By the end of the week, I may be able to ship a box of good stuff to Doug.

It should be nice when it works -- a webcam picture, a high-resolution picture available for those who want to try zooming in on places, and then a series of small ones for the entire day so we can click through to see how the weather changes over the day.

...anyone know of a way to automatically create a short video out of 20-40 ~35k jpeg images?

Also, I am looking for someone with graphics software and ability who might be able to alter the picture frame pieces on the main WPS page to frame a 640x480 picture.   ...Edit:  GigaMike emailed me the new picture frame pieces already! Thank you, Mike.

Steve,

If you are using Windows XP or Vista you should have Windows Movie Maker on your programs list:

Windows Movie Maker Method
Open up Windows Movie Maker.
Import the pictures.
Click "Tools", then "Options". Do this before placing the pictures into the timeline.
Click the "Advanced" tab.
Change the picture duration to 0.125 seconds a frame (the lowest setting). This is found under "Picture Options".
Ensure that the pictures are in the correct order.
Load the pictures into the storyboard.
Add titles and credits if desired.
Go to "Finish Movie" and click whichever option is suitable.

southswell: Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, I am looking for a strictly automatic process -- one that will run out of a script file when the camera software tells it to. It has to run completely without any human interaction, day after day, week after week.

I have most of the scripts to do the rest like that. (Still working on the ftp part.) But I don't know how to create a movie loop. It won't hold up the web cam. I can work on that later.
