Hi All,

I am new to this forum, tho have been visiting the site for years. I am planning a crossing from Giant Forest to WP sometime in early July. Will have a decent sized crew (6-8). Have done this trip twice before. Can anyone provide any info on availability of a shuttle service from Fresno to Giant Forest. I see that there is a park shuttle from Visalia, but cost for airfare from Ohio is a little cheaper to Fresno.

Unfortunately, Fresno is "backwoods" when it comes to public transportation. With that size group, it is probably costing a fortune to fly into Fresno -- check the cost of flying only to LA and taking public transportation (Amtrak or Greyhound) to Visalia. You could even check out one-way car rental into Visalia from LA.

But if you do fly into Fresno, you might then need to take Amtrak or Greyhound to Visalia and then catch the Giant Forest shuttle.

Thanks for the info Steve. For some reason I wasn't considering LAX, but that looks like it might be the way to go. Airfare is much cheaper and the rental or bus sounds good also. We will be doing the bus up to Reno from Lone Pine after crossing the Sierras.
