Andrew - I read your Shasta trip report - good snow conditions for July. What year did your trip occur?

I guess I should have called this out - I'm the "Bill" in the story.

Reminds me of the old comedy routine - "You can call me Ray, or you can call me ...".

Back to the question - do you know what year the Shasta trip occurred? Thanks.

That was an awesome report. I found myself transported to your trip and mesmerized with the mental visions. Great job on the hike.

I was wondering where all the visitors were coming from!

I've skied Shasta twice. The Hotlum-Wintun Ridge trip was July 20, 2005 (a big snow year!).

The Avalanche Gulch trip was July 1, 2006.

I do recommend Shasta - it's a very different mountain (and experience) from Whitney.

Glad you enjoyed the PCT report. Bill was a great hiking partner (except his pack weighed less than mine).
