topped out 5/12 last time was in august 92.have a good map lots of snow made for some bushwackin.Water great!lots of snow to melt we had some very strong winds and low temps. "M" took off pre dawn too windy for me I stayed with "L" who had some AMS at 12000. Wind died down around 9:00.I gear up too at least get some pics above our camp.checked in with"L" via rhino..resting and good he said "M" was walkig in.I was at the cables and said I would go for Muir to leave my kit in my sleeping bag if they had to roll.Up I went felt great at trail crest after the the 2 sketchy snowfield traverse... slow,steady,think,breath...could not settle for Muir...press on! good trail two French climbers ahead....walk...think,breath....Wow I made it AGAIN....Sighn Pics vid.drink....start down......."S"

Ice axe/crampons required? I'm making my first attempt in a month and I'm trying to get a feel for what its like right now. Thanks.

I used my Ice Axe quite a bit,but did not put on my crampons once.I had to cut a few steps just for my comfort in a couple of spots and used it on glissade on the way down.I was glad I had both "Its better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it"......"S"
