Finding reliable transport from the Portal to Giant Forest put the final kibosh on my HST trip. Plus time constraints. Plus cost, and many more nagging loose ends. So I'm gonna go in from Horseshoe Meadow. That decision has taken the weight of the world off my shoulders and for the first time I'm more excited than nervous about the hike!
Faxed my permit request to Inyo NF office about an hour ago and I can almost taste the burger at Doug's place as I'm writing this :^)
