Hello everyone!
Being a teacher, I have the whole summer to hike. So, here is my dilemma for this summer.
My teacher friends and I are going to be tackling sections of the PCT over the next ten years hiking 250+ miles per year. We were going to start at the Canadian Border and head south for the first 250 miles. Well, those plans got squashed with all the rain/snow and our starting date being the last week in June. So, we have decided to do a couple of sections in northern California this year starting in mid-July. There's just one problem. We can't decide what sections to do in northern California. So here's the PCT Preguntas:
1. Does anyone who has hiked the PCT have any suggestions on northern California sections that stick out in their minds more than others?
2. If so, are there resupply places remotely nearby?
3. Lastly, could anyone be so kind as to send me any pictures you might have of your PCT hike in northern California?
Thanks everyone,
Greg Lukenbill

Greg,
Depends on how far north you intend when you say northern California. Way north I enjoyed the section from Castle Crags to as far north as Seiad Valley. This would be about a 150 mile stretch. I resupplied once in Etna. All my pictures are slides (pre digital) but I'm sure there are plenty available.

Start further south - Whitney to as far north as you have time.

Thanks guys. I like the section that Scott pointed out. It looks great. Booger's got a point, but I'm looking to do something new. Whitney would be great again and I'll do this year, but I need a change. Thanks for the info.

go to pct journals and there are years worth of photos there.
here's a more direct link, pick a year from the bar across the top.
