Hey everyone,

The new Sony Pictures Classics/Mark Obenhaus documentary 'Steep' is opening Dec 21 in L.A.

I got a chance to see an early screening, and if you're interested in high-risk ski mountaineering, this is a very interesting film. 'Steep' includes probably the best collection of archival ski extreme footage ever assembled, plus plenty of beautiful shots of current big mountain skiing.

The film also goes to unusual lengths to get inside the minds of the people who ski the steeps, with in-depth profiles of notable skiers from different periods in the sport's history and development.

Release schedule is here.

For a nice teaser, see my interview with Andrew McLean, one of the film's featured skiers, with lots of Steep talk plus a few of Andrew's expedition winter camping/ski mountaineering tips.

Scott L, it's probably a toss-up whether it'll reach Cincinnati or Indianapolis first. I'll probably be watching it on DVD. eek
