Hey everyone,
My first trip to Mt. Whitney was awesome. Check out the video I put together that documents it. CAUTION: It's a very long video, so get your coffee and settle in for a nice trip. Enjoy!

Great video!!!
What's the name/singer of the song you used from the morning of Day 2 to almost the summit? Something like "I Can't Imagine..." Loved that music! Would like to do it at my church some time if I could find the music to it.

Great Video!! CaT, the song is "I can Only Imagine" The group is: Mercy Me. They are a Christian Contemporary group and have several albums out.

duel,

Thanks for the song info. Now that you mention the name of the group, I have heard of them, though am not specifically familiar with their work, per se. I loved this particular piece, though.

"I can only imagine" will be a great song to do at your church! It is very popular in mine.
The thing about walking the Mt. Whitney trail to the summit is that there are a lot of treasures to be found, regardless of the time of day you go.
These are treasures that you can only see if you "walk the path". You can not see these things by car, plane, train or bicycle. You MUST walk it. Many people try and experience this from their living room couch through their T.V., via someone else's journey. The truth is, you can never receive the blessings of what you experience on the trail unless you walk it for yourself!

It really is a privilege for me to read about the personal journeys on this message board. You all are such an encouragement to me to "get out there"! wink

I'm glad you guys are enjoying the video!

Watched the video again.....makes me want to go back up there soon! Nice job, Tom. Even though it is over a year old, the memories last a lifetime. Setting those images to the music you picked just makes it all the more enjoyable as well. Let's do it again next summer!

Yes, outstanding video. My first trip (9/18 this year) ended with me leaving Trail Camp am coughing up blood, blurred vision, etc. Never got to summit. I had made the decision to return next summer and this video helps with my resoution and training. Kudos for your trip and thanks.

Well, I didn't get my permit this year. Oh well, I guess it's off to Evolution Valley.
