For anyone interested in Kearsarge Pass conditions, I took a recon hike under perfect sunny blue Sierra skies to Nameless via Kearsarge Pass. I didn't attempt the summit block on this trip, as I have a "domestic agreement" ;)about no solo unprotected 5th class. I spent too much time route finding and exploring the ridge from Kearsarge and it was dark before I got back to the pass. In retrospect, I think the NE ridge from Bench Lake is a better, albeit more technical, approach. Pictures are
here.

Rockin' trip, Dave! A good decision to leave the headlamp back in the pack, eh??? Ahhh... boys... I agree with your wife, though, with the rules of no Class 5 on your own! wink

Hmmm... Gould looks eminently do-able, and maybe University, too?
