i bet he made to where ever he was going. you don't have to have that $300 ultralight pack and $25 titanium spoon to enjoy the outdoors.

Do you think this couple packed out their poop? I doubt there is a used wag bag coming out of the wilderness.You do think that the guy could have at least had a roller bag instead of a regular suitcase. Call me crazy.

Bob wasn't dissing their fine selection of "outdoor gear", he was referring to the Asian fellow he passed last year who was carrying a heavy Wal-Mart tent still in its cardboard packaging. But you knew that.

Yes, I also saw the picture of the guy carrying his tent. Same point. You don't need to shop at A16 and have top of the line gear to backpack or hike.

There was a summit register on Wotan's Throne on 26 July. So now it's gone, as is Thor's. I don't like this trend...

The register wasn't in the usual place when I was up there last month. At first I thought someone had taken it, but after poking around it was about 5 feet away under one larger rock. I did put it back in the normal spot...honest.
