Just had a partner bail for a planned trip up the East Ridge. I have a campsite reserved if you want to camp out beforehand. Young, old, male, female, moose, doesn't matter, all are welcome. If interested, let me know.

Unfortunately, I'm already committed as well! Hopefully hitting Agassiz from Bishop Pass, then an afternoon of fishing at Long Lake. Woohoo!

Oh well, it'll happen when it happens.

What is the Rockwell route?
My son and I went up Russell 3 weeks ago by a route suggested by another climber just before we left. We had read about going up the scree slope to the southeast of UBSL. The climber suggested going all of the way up the valley behind UBSL, taking the last chute to the right up to the east ridge. We kept high on the right side of the valley and it was a great route with basically no scree and talus to deal with.

Phil,
Thanks for the invite. Looks like there will be quite a few people heading up on Saturday. I'll be heading out from the portal in the dark, so I'll be up by you in time for breakfast. Eggs sunny side up, hash browns, bacon xtra crispy. Thanks.
