A friend of mine who is a hiking animal suggested that we do a Hike from the end of the road near white Mountain peak to over the nevada border he thinks about 40 miles. I am not too concerned about the altitude I am not too prone to altitude sickness below 15000.

what I wanted to ask-He says there is some scrambling past the peak. How exposed is that stretch? He is a real climber I am
ok with some exposure Whitney etc. not a problem. Photos would be ideal! Thanks

Here is a link to a site that should answer all your questions.

My understanding of Whites is that it is the easiest of the 14'ers with very little exposure. It is pretty much a high altitude hike up a dirt road/trail.

The SP page won't help you. I was scoping it out last December. I've got a picture looking north from the summit towards Boundary Peak. I can email it to you if you send me an email I can reply to. It's mostly walking, but I would expect some scattered third class stretches (not just one spot. The ridge down towards Boundary gets hairy in places. You can probably keep the exposure down by dropping below the crest, but that can bring its own difficulties. People ski that route in winter, but I doubt they stay on the crest the whole way.
