Just out of curiosity, what are the crowds going to be like in late June? A couple buddies and I did the main trail last year June 1-3 and practically had the mountain to ourselves. This years we're aiming for June 28-30.

Thoughts?

I don't have any stats to quote, but the snowfall levels last year were so much higher that a LOT of people cancelled their early season trips.

From the photos albums I've looked at recently, it looks like the crowds are arriving early this year.

This totally sucks. I wish the out of staters would just stay home and climb their own mountains : )

Don't worry, Chris. soon we'll figure out that Whitney would be a lot less crowded if only out-of-staters were allowed on it. No doubt the Carolinas would get high priority. laugh

If only most of us out-of-staters had our own mountains (real mountains, not pimples)... cry

Don't worry ... at the rate people are moving to California, pretty soon there won't be any out-of-staters.
