Just dropped in to thank all the people out there that gave info when asked!Thanks again.My son and myself walked from happy isles to reds where my wife picked us up.We then drove to Lone Pine.Stayed at the Dow Villa.Had a nice day off then drove up to Whitney portal.Set off at 6am.Weather was fine.Half way up the switchbacks thick cloud appeared!Hung around for about 10 mins then decided to continue.Once on trail crest we felt the wind,cold but not to bad.Half way to the summit the snow started!The snow came and went,so we continued.We had all the gear we needed so was not a prob.Reached summit at 12:30.Wind was really picking up so we left summit at 1.Back at portal 5:30.No great views from the top but still a mega day!!Made some good friends up there.You know who you are.
