LA Times has an update regarding the long-running lawsuit between the DWP and various groups including the Sierra Club.

I recall a thread about a new housing development that the portal store owner was commenting on some weeks back. This might be a material update to that discussion.

You can probably google to get an update but if enough people are interested and don't want to register I can post the article.

The LA Times online requires a subscription, but here's a CBS link to the story:

http://cbs2.com/local/local_story_271113937.html

Quoting - "In a legal agreement, the DWP agreed in 1997 to recharge the aquifer and create and sustain healthy and diverse habitat for fish, waterfowl and shorebirds, as well as stands of cottonwood and willows, by mid-2003."

Now it appears the DWP will have to act - it's exciting to think a place already so beautiful could be improved.
