Greetings from the far side of the Atlantic.

We have managed to get a 3 day permit (12, 13 & 14th Oct) to attempt Mt. Whitney.

We have had some experience of walking in the Sierras on previous trips over but this will be our first attempt on Mt Whitney.

Would welcome any suggestions and nearer the time weather updates that will help us cope with climbing a Mountain far higher than anything we have in Scotland.

hope your training is going well. I have received a lot of good input re: hiking Mt. Whitney in Oct. on a posting titled "planning to summit in October". take a look there for the response I received when asking for advise about being on Mt. Whitney in Oct. Hope you have a wonderful hike.
