Due to time constraints I'm hoping to leave from The Portal at 3:00 am drop my pack at trail camp, summit and then overnight at trail camp. i know most people do it quite the opposite. I'd like some feedback regarding departure time and any other info from anyone whose done a similar circuit. Thanks

Does'nt make much sence to me. The hike up to trail camp with a full pack is about 4 hours. Once you get back down to trail camp your only 2-3 hours away from the trailhead. Better to do it in a day and take a day pack or camp at trailcamp, get up the next morning real early and summit by 7 or 8 in the morning.

A recent thread on the subject started all sorts of controversy: <a href="http://www.whitneyportalstore.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=004647">Keeping gear at Trail Camp</a>. Your idea is not advised.
