Well one day I checked the message board and it would not open, this happens with these electric things .So we were closing the store for the season and moving everything out and now are rebuilding the board, in computer time "it will be up in no time". We will keep the same format on posting Please keep it clean and respect others comments. Thank you and welcome home.

Happy holidays to all from the Portal crew.

Happy holidays to all at WPS, too. It's good to have the board back. I'm anxious to see the live cam view when it is ready. Thank you.

It's nice to have the board back up, I look forward to day dreaming this winter on my trip back to Whitney in July. I live in Columbus, Ohio so I use any means possible to get through these winters.

PS - I am not sure that the other links on the page are functioning at this point. I cannot get the camera to work nor can I get the online store up either.

Hi Doug, Just like the other post, it's great to have your site back on line and improved. Did you check out that car in Az, forgot to ask you last Tues?

Happy Holidays and it's good to see you survived the perils of the electronic age.

It's GREAT to have the message board back. I sure hope that everyone who registers abides by the rules. The value of the site far outweighs the ability to slam other people.

This new format is great, but I'm seeing, if I understand correctly, photos can't be attached as before.

And enabling C's is a pain. First priority should be to remove them to access this board.

But it's great not to have the inane, rabid posts--hopefully that will continue, and be a hallmark of this message board!

Doug, sure am glad to have your message board back. Planning a trip in the Fall of '03, and have already gotten a wealth of info. from your old board. Have a wonderful and safe holiday.

Thanks Doug,

Hey welcome back! I was going through withdrawals without your site Doug!

This board was indispensible to me as I prepared for my day hike in September, which was a success! Thanks to all for your insight and opinions they were a great help in achieving my goal!

Great new look! All your hard work is very much appreciated!

What a wonderful Christmas present to have the board back. Our Christmas day conversation centered on our next Whitney day hike. We want to do it early enough to see the sky pilots. I would also like to do the old trail to Lone Pine Lake and circle back on the new trail (since I've never seen it in the day light.) Ho Ho I hope to see Sarah S, Bob R, Allan Ritter and 1000 Peaks posting again. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

What do you mean it's not the same without me?

LOL

Have fun, I look forward to my next summit attempt if Inyo lets me.

By the way...I haven't checked, do we submit requests for permits in Jan. this year?

Anyway, I have some leftover photos from last summer, but I'm out of web space frown
I have a question about the switchbacks that aren't the switchbacks. I'll get back to it later.

Glad to see the board up and running. I was kind of guessing that there would be a registration to participate and I am very happy for it. No more of that fake junk.

Yes, my summit was REAL.

Vince
