Mt. Whitney Portal Store & Hostel Forums General Mt. Whitney Portal Store Message Board Any MT day hike permits 7/3?

I am looking for a "spot" on 7/3 for the main trail. If anybody had a group member cancel out or a solo day hike permit cancels please email me and let me know. I can meet at the WRS at the time you pick up your permits.

Hi Bob R, I am also looking for two extra permits in the month of July (not on July 3 though). Is what you described a typical "walk-in" scenario? Or is it only because it's July 4th? Thanks!!

A friend and I cancelled our June 6th trip due to the conditions, but we have continued to train in hopes we might be able to go up later. The ability to get cancelled permits is encouraging.
