Thinking of soloing Russell via Rt. 8 or 16, via the saddle or scree slope. Any feedback on conditions?

I'm not sure which routes you are referring to but my favorite is in red on this picture.

I would not expect snow or ice to be an issue on the south side however the north side traverse has a small section just before the summit that can get hairy at times. Hopefully someone who has been there can report.
