Hey all,

I'm planning a trip up to Telescope Peak soon. Anybody know what kind of conditions to expect up there? Is there any dirt or is it solid snow above the kilns? I've heard they've had a lot of snow this year, but it's been hot and, I imagine, melting fast.

Thanks Sierragator. Sounds like a good fun time. Did you have any trouble getting up to Mahogany Flat? And did you see any dirt above the 9,000' mark, or around Arcane Mdw? Just wondering if we should be ready to campe on snow....

No problem driving to mahogany. Some folks are already camping there. Patchy snow between the trailhead and the north face of Bennett. Beyond that point it was about 50/50 snow/dirt, but the condition of the snow made for easy travel. The NE ridge of Telescope has steps pretty well pounded into the snow all the way up. With the warm conditions the snow will be pulling back fast.
