For all those who don't know, some low life has taken it upon himself to hack into and destroy another valuable web site-a forum dedicated also to the Sierra environment. I do not understand why anyone feels the urge or any pleasure in ruining a site that brings to many, so much enjoyment, but they do. ARG!!! I guess we all know how this goes from past days here.
I guess those who can't do it themselves, can only find their manhood in spoiling it for others. Just wanted Eric to know we will wait, and hope all is well again soon.

We received three e-mails yesterday, one right after the other with a vulgar reference subject from the site(Eric). I am sure it was after the hack job and part of it. It effects all of us in some way or another when we start getting phantom e-mails like that. The have obviously done something to auto send to everyone registered at his site. Too bad.

I received three foul e mails and never opened them, I knew they could not be from Eric.

I have also received the emails from the hackers. I went to the site a few minutes ago and there is a message from Eric with his feelings on the subject.

Many don't understand that Topix is not a commercial operation, Eric runs the board as a volunteer and the costs come out of his pocket, As with Doug and this board. I for one have a great deal of respect for these people and their grass roots approach to the internet, as well as their love for the Sierra.

Wow, from reading his message (click on the forums from the main page), I can't believe people are bagging on him for not "doing enough" to fix the site.

Would anyone really wish this on someone? What a nightmare for someone who just does this as a hobby in their spare time!

Wow. I feel really bad for Eric. I wouldn't dream of hassling him over it. Doesn't he have enough problems right at the moment? Sad.
