We drove past the sign saying "road closed 3 miles" recently. Snow is down to about 6500 feet of so.

Last year, in a lighter snow year, some where up on the road by middle of May. This year, the heavy snowfall and annual winter rockfall could easily keep the road closed until the 2nd half of May. I have been up in the Horseshoe meadows area many times in the last 10 years on the last weekend of May.
