Anyone have any thoughts regarding the feasibility of making a Mt Sill attempt this weekend? I know it is going to be super cold, but the forecast looks pretty good. Just wondering what the snow cover is like.

Jason, welcome back! If you look at posts regarding ascending Whitney, most people agree the going is really tough due to snow drifted pretty deep in some places. The snow is fresh and not consolidated right now, so you would be knee to waist deep some places. But if you go, please post a note about it.

I am curous how the headache issue played out after your last spring ascent.

Wow, you remembered the headache thing. Well, eventually my doctor recommended a brain MRI to rule out a tumor or aneurysm. The results came out flawless, which led him to believe that they were just tension related. I had been doing a lot of irregular exercise during that time. Just pretty much being sedentary during the week with huge blasts of intensity during the weekend. Since then, I've tried to even-out my physical activity and I haven't had the headaches since.

This past September, I spent a week above 15,500 in Bolivia and climbed as high as nearly 18,000 without a problem. Thanks for asking.

My girfriend and I are going to check out Sill (heading up this evening from LA). If we don't get far, we'll just chalk it up to training.

I'm kind of excited to go up against the cold, test out our 'gumption', skills, and equipment.

If we do make it anywhere, I'll be sure to post.

Jason
